FEAR’S HEYDAY
It doesn’t take much to take root. A little need for control will do. Throw in a loss or two and a daring glance down will get the adrenaline going, and fear will start sowing its way inside. It will sound its alarm and do harm down every single stem, twisting and contorting ‘what could be.’ Untouchable spines on every edge, constructing a hedge to keep me from leaning on You. Before I know it, I’m ingesting every lie that says letting go is a loss I’ll never live through. Impressive... what worry and imagination can do. Fear has a heyday when I’m convinced I am my only good. (Jeremiah 17:5-8)
The Candelabra Tree (Euphorbia Ammak) is an impressive succulent with a trunk-like stem that branches out into multiple thick, wavy, upright stems lined with sharp, prominent thorns and containing highly toxic sap.
