MORNING REVEAL

My favorite aspect of camping and backpacking is when the teasing glow of early morning prepares you for the upcoming show. Still bundled from a cool night with my coffee in hand, I’ll position myself to receive the warm beams of sunlight as it transitions everything from gray to color. It’s the morning reveal.

How many times must I lay my worries and chaos, all muddied and gray, to bed with the One who never slumbers to anticipate the morning where He rises to shed color and perspective on it all? Mercies. “When I awake, I am still with you.” (Psalm 139:18)
