The Branch of a Christmas Tree
A Christmas tree was planted in the very beginning. The genealogies of the Messiah, recorded in Matthew and Luke, are often overlooked, but they reveal an ordained history unfolding over centuries until the birth of a certain King. This advent journey invites you to uncover the line of Christ and discover the beauty of the Branch as you approach Christmas Day - a celebration of Immanuel, God with us. Each of the twenty-seven days focuses on an individual or season in the lineage, from Genesis to Luke. Each day’s study concludes with an experiential activity for further reflection. This 4-week devotional can be used for personal study and worship or utilized as a resource for advent reflections among family, church, or social gatherings.
