MORNING WALK

A morning walk, quietly working through this field of to-do with you. The day breaks; I do too. You have my attention. The dawn causes tension, casting shadows on all the terrain that had slept undercover in the dark.
The sun is your part; it’s what you do every morning. Everything is clearer. You are near ordering my tasks at dawn’s light. I’m not as afraid; much braver than last night’s thoughts. Danger seems a weak foe when I know you are near… here. This knee-deep brush that buried me yesterday is covered in golden dew. Manna, just waiting to be sifted and collected… consumed. With ease I can walk past what won’t last to what is true and worthy in all I view. Morning devotion. (Psalm 19)
