IF I SAY

The most precious words of Psalm 139 are often skipped over. “If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will overwhelm (bruise) me, and the light about me be night,’ even the darkness is not dark to You.” In the darkest dark, I am seen. In the dark places when I am arrogant or doubtful, scared or lost, even “like a beast before Him,” He is with me, seeing everything clearly, leading me by the hand. (Psalm 73) 

As we walked through Mission Concepcion, I stopped and stood here for a while in the shadows looking up at the sunlight bursting through somewhere above.
